If you missed it, here are links to the opening and closing keynotes.
Opening Keynote - Diane Ravitch is an historian of education at New York University. Her best-selling book, The Death and Life of the Great American School System, has made her one of the nation's most sought after speakers on current issues.
Closing Keynote - Founding member of the Flying Karamazov Brothers juggling troupe Randy Nelson has brought his love of learning to his work as a computer programmer, lead developer trainer at NeXT Computer, dean of Pixar University, senior instructional designer at Apple and head of Dreamworks Education.
HOT TOPIC:Waiting for a "Rosa Parks" Moment
We all agree the current education system (thinking nationally) is broken. There seems to be a growing discontent that in many respects parallels the Civil Rights movement. Ti seems we are just waiting for a "Rosa Parks" moment that will serve as a catalyst to broad systematic change. What do you think that moment will be? How far away is it?
Develop and update what you would like to share with our group. For your presentation, also create a Google Doc with an abstract (THINK: TV Guide description) of what you will be sharing along with links to any resources and examples, so we can share your work with others in our group and in Kansas.
